Meet this year's award-winning visiting authors!
CDL is pleased to host award-winning authors for children for the 15th year! The general public is invited to An Evening with the Authors, our community event where you will hear from all three nationally-known Authors in Chelsea, have a chance to ask questions, and purchase books to be signed (courtesy of Serendipity Books). Each author will speak for 15-20 minutes, followed by a book signing in the lobby.
Have you ever wondered what the writing process is like for a published author? How do they develop characters and setting? What’s it like writing for young children, versus tweens and adults? An Evening with the Authors is your chance to find out! Come ready with your questions about reading and writing for this very special community event!
This year's authors are Sarah Dillard, author of the early reader graphic novel series Extraordinary Warren and the Mouse Scouts chapter books; Karina Yan Glaser, New York Times bestselling author of the beloved Vanderbeekers series; and Jennifer A. Nielsen, who writes thrilling historical fiction and fantasy novels for middle grade and teen readers. Learn more about our visiting authors and the Authors in Chelsea program here.
Arrive early for FREE BOOKS! The first 20 families to arrive will receive a coupon for a free book from Serendipity Books. A wide variety of titles by our visiting authors will be available to purchase, as well.
Pssst-- this event is held at the Washington Street Education Center, not the library! We'll be in the Board Room in the main building (Senior Center entrance).
