Join Great Lakes historian Frederick Stonehouse for an evening commemorating fifty years since the loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Through vivid storytelling and decades of research, Stonehouse brings new insight to the shipwreck that continues to define the history and spirit of Lake Superior.
On the evening of November 10, 1975, the 729-foot ore freighter SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior with the loss of her entire 29-man crew. The story of the ship and its crew is still well known to those living in Michigan, thanks in large part to the efforts of author and maritime historian Fred Stonehouse.
