Join us for an open-house style celebration of the bond payoff, 75th anniversary of the Friends of Chelsea District Library, the 25th anniversary of the library district, and more!
2024 is a very special year at the library. On May 1, we made the last payment on our building loan using the funds from the winter tax collection. What does this mean? Our patrons' tax burden is going down this year! In addition to this momentous occasion, 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of our library district formation, the 65th anniversary of library services being offered in the historic McKune building, and the 75th anniversary of the Friends of the Chelsea District Library.
Join us for an open-house style celebration of the library—past, present, and future. Mingle with the Friends, explore CDL & Friends history, take a look at the strategic plan, check out useful library resources, and enjoy light refreshments. Don't miss the ceremonial burning of the mortgage to kick off this afternoon's Music in the Air performance!
The Chelsea District Library is a single branch library serving the City of Chelsea and surrounding townships. The library has 4 small study rooms, one medium meeting room, and the McKune room, our main programming room.
