Children read books to our friendly therapy dogs who listen carefully to every single word! Meet a different dog every month! Children must be able to read a simple book independently to participate.
Reading Education Assistance Dogs has been a Chelsea District Library program for over 10 years. Children read books to our friendly therapy dogs who listen carefully to every single word! Research has shown that children can improve their reading skills by reading aloud to non-judgmental listeners. Read five times and get a free book! Sign up for a 15-minute slot by calling 475-8732, ext. 209, or visiting the Information Services Desk on the first floor of the library.
In order for all children to participate and have a successful experience, please let us know if your child has any special needs that we can accommodate. Call Edith at 734-475-8732, ext. 213.
