Program about plants in art from the DIA.
Join us to hear a docent from the Detroit Institute of Arts discuss the hidden meanings behind images of flowers, plants and garden in some of our most favorite works of art. After the program, be sure to visit the Frida Kahlo's Garden exhibition to see how plants, especially native plants of Mexico, influenced her art! Did you know that in addition to being an artist, that Frida had an interest in botany, was an avid gardener, and loved creating floral arrangements for her home?
The Chelsea District Library is a single branch library serving the City of Chelsea and surrounding townships. The library has 4 small study rooms, one medium meeting room, and the McKune room, our main programming room.
